Congratulations to our Kindergartners! They have graduated! Our baby eagles are ready to SOAR!
We are celebrating! SAGE Testing is done for the year!
Despite the chill in the air, our fifth graders enjoyed a day learning about and honoring our local veterans. Each student was given a red, white or blue T-shirt and a dog tag with the name of a veteran to "walk" for. They enjoyed a flag raising ceremony and spent 20 minutes at different stations learning from our local veterans, and learning other things. For a more complete summary of the day, ask a fifth grader. Thank you American Legion Post 68.
The third graders at Canyon Elementary have been practicing spelling words in anticipation of the annual Spelling Bee. Today was the day! Congratulations to the winners! (Check out the last picture....I think they're all happy!)
The first grader's have been working hard all year memorizing poems. Today Miss Hutchings' class recited those poems for their parents. It was very impressive!
Have you ever heard of learning to write through dance? If you were at Canyon Elementary today, that's exactly what happened. The BYU Kinnect Dance group came to school today. The students enjoyed breakout sessions until 1:00. After that the whole school assembled and learned about parts of a story through dance. It was enjoyed by everyone!
School lunch is so exciting when you are in kindergarten! Today was the much anticipated day when they got to have school lunch in preparation for next year. Pizza was on the menu, yum! The "future first graders" all enjoyed their first lunch at school.
