Our 4th-grade classes had a fun Mountain Man day last week! We had a Mountain Man Rendezvous where they could buy and trade with each other, arm wrestling matches, make arrowhead necklaces, and do more fun activities. We had a great time!

Attention all 3rd- 5th grade students who wish to participate in the cast of The Lion King Kids, auditions will be Tuesday, December 6th. There will be a $25.00 participation charge. Students will be bringing flyers home.

Canyon had a special visitor! Cosmo and the BYU dunk team came to teach our students how to be Cougar Built. The students were challenged to follow 4 rules:

Built to Love: We will be kind and respectful, even when it's hard. We will treat everyone like a friend.

Built to Learn: We will listen carefully, always be honest, do our best, and ask teachers and parents for help.

Built to Work: We will say YES to healthy food, sleep, and exercise. We will say NO to drugs and alcohol.

5th-grade students have been learning a lot about our country's States. Each student picked a state and researched all about it and created a visual to present to other students and parents. Way to go 5th-grade, you guys did awesome! Click on the picture to see more. 

Canyon Elementary students and staff were honored to attend an assembly by local veterans. We learned so much about the sacrifices veterans have made and the service they have provided to protect our freedom. We appreciate our veterans. Kayzlee is our first "bell-ringer" at Canyon! We have a new bell near the office for students to ring when they have reached a challenging reading or math goal. We can't wait to hear it ring often as students work hard and celebrate their success!
