Canyon Bean Museum Assembly

Submitted by calleen.argyle on

Fourth-grade students at Canyon Elementary had the opportunity to see and learn more about reptiles in an assembly from the Bean Museum of BYU.  After discussing many different things about reptiles, students got to see a real lizard, snake, and turtle.

Mountain Man, Scott Sorenson visited the fourth-grade students of Canyon Elementary Friday, Jan. 27, 2012.  This was a great experience for our students.  They loved hearing about famous mountain men, learning more about what a mountain man does, asking questions, and actually getting to touch real animal pelts.

Canyon Science Fair Winners

Submitted by calleen.argyle on

Fifth-grade students from Canyon Elementary displayed their science projects at their annual Science Fair held at the school Jan. 26, 2012.  Students formed a hypothesis for their science projects and then set up their own experimental trials to prove or disprove their hypothesis.  They kept a journal of their work and finally put together a display showing the results.  Some students worked with a team and others did individual projects.  The winners will now go on to the district science fair.
