First Grade Rocks!

Submitted by calleen.argyle on

First-grade students study rocks and soil in their science curriculum.  The first-grade teachers invited Mr. Hathaway, former Canyon Custodian, to bring his rock collection to share with their students.  Mr. Hathaway showed the boys and girls many rocks that he collected here in Utah.  He also told the boys and girls that rocks have many uses.   Some rocks can be turned into heat and others are used for cosmetics.  At the end of his presentation, he gave each first-grade teacher a fossil kit to keep for their class.
