JA Biztown

Submitted by kalani.reed on

Fifth Grade students had the opportunity to attend Biztown in Salt Lake City. Before going to Biztown, the students were taught lessons on how to run a business. Students were able to write checks, operate banks, manage restaurants, and vote for mayor. Addi Gwilliam was Mayor for the day. This program gives the students a practical application for what they learned in the classroom. Many parent volunteers helped out to make it a successful day. Below are what some students said about the day.

Officer McCoy

Officer McCoy visited Mrs. Nilson’s first-graders and explained about his job.  He showed us some of the tools he uses. He also told us how kids can help make his job a little easier by making SURE we put our scooters and bikes safely out of sight after we use them.
Thank you, Officer McCoy, for keeping us safe!!

Watercolor Aspens

Submitted by kalani.reed on

Third-grade students created winter art using watercolors. The aspen trees look stunning as you walk down the third-grade hall. In addition, some of the students wrote a Haiku describing their picture.
