Broadway - Right Here in Spanish Fork

Submitted by jeanette.maughan on

If you were standing outside Canyon Elementary the other night, you would have heard some Broadway tunes coming from the gym. These 4-6 graders have worked hard preparing for this concert and it paid off.  The audience will be humming those tunes for weeks to come.  Thanks for a great concert!  We'll look forward to many more to come.

Egg Drop

Have you ever dropped an egg off a school and hoped it wouldn't break?  That's egg-xactly what the Kindergarteners did!  It was windy that morning, which added to the excitement.  If you find yourself in the situation of needing to know how to protect a little egg, just ask a kindergartner.  They know what works and what doesn't!

The Living Planet Aquarium Outreach program visited the second grade classes today.  They learned about continents, the rainforest, and were even introduced to some of the animals that dwell there.

Fun Run

Canyon students are in shape!  March 31 was the date of the annual Fun Run.  The older students started out in front of the school, followed by the younger ones.  The "Fun Run" progressed through the neighborhood for one mile and ended up on the playground.  Ben, Dallon and Adam were the first ones to cross the finish line.  Each participant enjoyed a popsicle at the end of the race.  What a great way to welcome Spring.

We're Going to the Zoo!

The Kindergarten classes recently performed their famous "We're Going to the Zoo" Program.  Each of the three performances were enjoyed by proud parents and family members.  As a culminating event, the Kindergarten classes actually did go to the zoo.  Even though it rained, the day was enjoyed by all who participated.
