Today on our very sunny afternoon, the fifth graders were able to play kickball against the faculty members. Much cheering went on for both teams and this year the 5th graders came out on top...12 to 11! Way to go 5th graders and thanks for showing great sportsmanship as well throughout the game. We're proud of you!

5th Grade Freedom Walk

Submitted by brittany.neilson on Wed, 05/18/2022 - 13:55

Fifth grade students participated in the Freedom walk this past week. Members from various branches of the military came and told stories to the students.

The Freedom Walk was first conceived by Legion member, Richard Johnson, as a way to help students have a better understanding and appreciation for military veterans. The new name of this Freedom Walk is now called the Dr. Richard Johnson Memorial Freedom Walk in his honor.  This “walk” is unlike any other event organized by the Legion according to the veterans.

Mrs. Geis, one of our amazing Kindergarten teachers, was honored yesterday at Nebo Board Meeting with the PEAK award. This award stands for Positive Energy and Kindness and Mrs. Geis is definitely an example of that. Her nominator was Mrs. Keralyn Nelson who had worked with her previously as a parent and now as a colleague. Thanks Mrs. Geis for all you do!

Fishing Day!

Submitted by brittany.neilson on Wed, 05/11/2022 - 08:28

Miss Russell’s class had a “reel” lot of fun fishing at Salem Pond! Students got to catch a fish in the pond, and watch the cleaning process for the fish to come home. What a great way to spend a sunny Tuesday! #letsgrowtogether #canyonelementary
