Last Days of School

Submitted by jeanette.maughan on

These last days of school are filled with excitement and activities.  There have been water parties, garage sales, Banana Splits and of course our first ever Pool Party.  It has been a great year.  From all of us at Canyon, we hope you have a great summer!

Penny War Ends in a TIE

Can you believe it?  The first annual (?) Penny War ended in a TIE.  Mr. Harlan and Mrs. Ferrara were both duct taped to the wall today.  The response was incredible, and we'd like to thank everyone who contributed to the Chromebook fund.  Our school is in good hands with an amazing Principal and fun-loving PTA President. We would also like to thank the Canyon Afterschool/4-H Club for donating the duct tape.

This is the Place

Our fourth grade visited the "This is the Place" State Park. While there they got to participate in many things that they have been learning all year long.  The weather was beautiful and it didn't start to rain until the bus ride home.  Field Trips are the best!

THANK YOU

Wow!  Thank you to Macey's Grocery Store and to all the families who signed up for the PERKS Program and tied their account the Canyon Elementary!  We received this check today.  What a great neighborhood we live in!

Kindergarten Graduation

Submitted by jeanette.maughan on

It's a bitter/sweet day when kindergarteners graduate.  The three kindergarten classes presented a program full of the things they have learned this year.  They also thanked their parents, teachers and all others who have helped throughout this year.  Way to go Kindergartners!

Penny War

1..2..3..4, Let's have a Penny War!  Our PTA President, Karen Ferrara and our principal, Dave Harlan are going head to head in our Penny War to earn money for ChromeBooks.  The one with the most points by the end of the week will be taped to the wall during lunch.  Points are earned by how many pennies or bills are put in the bottle, but beware, points can be lost too.  Points are lost when silver coins are dropped in the jar.  Who will be the "lucky" winner?  The answer to that question is definitely.....THE STUDENTS!
