Natural History Museum Visits Canyon

Submitted by calleen.argyle on

The Museum of Natural History came from Salt Lake City to Canyon Elementary's fourth-grade classes and brought many different animal samples for the students to explore.  Students wrote down observations they made about the samples as well as questions they formed while making observations.  All four fourth-grade classes were involved.  Students learned a lot and had a great time.

Walk More in Four 2012

Submitted by calleen.argyle on

UDOT sponsored the "Walk More in Four 2012" contest which encourages students to start the year on the right foot by walking and biking to school safely for the chance to win prizes.  If students walked or biked to school at least three days a week each week for the month of September, and marked their progress on a chart, they could send in their chart for a chance to win prizes.  Austin Burnham, in Mr. Scott Bates' 5th grade at Canyon Elementary, was selected by UDOT to win a scooter and a bike helmet.  Cherise Wood, from UDOT, presented Austin with his award.
