Advising and making recommendations to school and school district administrators and the local school board regarding the school and its programs, school district programs, and other issues relating to the community environment for students
Developing a reading achievement plan.
The most critical academic needs identified in the Canyon Elementary plan are as follows:
Language Arts

Curriculum professional development for staff,
Classroom technology
Estimated allocated budget for 2023-2024: $63,350
Every year we have positions available on our School Community Council and we would love for you to join! Elections will be held in May. Parents act as the primary advocates for our children here at Canyon Elementary. Parent engagement is a key element to student achievement and student progress. Parents have at least a two-member majority of a school community council, and are often the driving force that helps strengthen our school. It is important that parents on the council understand the responsibilities of the council, and are able to collaborate well with the other members of the council to effect meaningful school improvement for all children. If you are interested in running for a position on the School Community Council, please contact Ms. Marcy Caldwell (principal) or Mrs. Foht (SCC Facilitator).
