Teacher/Staff Spotlight

   Jill Christianson is our spotlight person of the week.  Jill is one of our Skill Building Technicians.  Jill is married to Mike Christianson and they have 4 kids; Tyler 23, Zac 20, Dani 17 and Jared 12.  Jill graduated from Spanish Fork High School and went to college at BYU-Hawaii and BYU.  Her favorite foods are pizza and Magleby's chocolate cake.  Her favorite vacation was going to Bali, Indonesia where they had a great time.  She loves anywhere it's sunny and warm.  Her favorite motto is, "Smile."   It was her Dad's motto.

Basketball Shoot Out

   Fifth and Sixth-grade students at Canyon Elementary got to show off their basketball shooting skills when they participated in the Elks' Basketball Shoot Out Program.  Each student got twenty-five chances to make free throw shots.  The highest scoring girls and boys then had a "shoot out" at Canyon.  Four students from our school, Matt Money, Noah Conway, Tessa Clayton and Maya Yeates, went on to participate in the district level "Shoot Out".   Our school did well at the district level.  Matt Money took 2nd place in the boys' divisio

Third-Grade Makes Gingerbread Houses

  As an annual Christmas tradition, students in third-grade got to make gingerbread houses.  Students saved their empty milk cartons from school lunch for the frame of the house and parents brought candy and icing to help them create their gingerbread houses.

Project Teddy Bear

   We are giving teddy bears and stuffed animals to centers that devote their time to helping children in crisis.  Students from Canyon Elementary donated their own stuffed animals to help those little ones in need this holiday season.  The centers are able to give a child in crisis a stuffed animal.  A cute, warm teddy bear to hug in time of trauma is a great comfort to these children.  The centers are managed by highly qualified, trained personnel and they greatly appreciate our help.  Students form Canyon Elementary were happy to give, knowing that they
