Presidents' Program

Submitted by andria.lewis on

Did you know that George Washington had dentures made of gold, ivory, lead, and animal teeth?!

If you talk to a 5th grader, they can tell you more facts about the United States' Presidents!

The 5th graders did a wondering job presenting their program about the presidents of our country.

Each student dressed up as the presidents or their wives and memorized a lot of fun facts about them.

Great job 5th graders!

Goodbye Mrs. Oldham!

There has never been a Canyon with no Mrs. Oldham, and sadly she  will be leaving us! For students who have only attended Canyon, Mrs. Oldham has been their only librarian since kindergarten.

Mrs. Oldham has been a librarian for 24 years, and at Canyon for 18 years, since it's been open.

Mountain Man Rendezvous

Submitted by andria.lewis on

4th grade had their annual Mountain Man Rendezvous after learning about the ways of Mountain men and women. Some kids (and teachers) dressed up, parents helped with games, they ate fry bread, and bartered with pellets. All had a great time!

DARE K-9 presentation

Submitted by andria.lewis on

Our 5th grade classes have been doing the D.A.R.E program with Spanish Fork City Police officer, Officer Beddoes.

Officer Beddoes invited Officer Grover, and his dog, Lord, to come and do a presentation for the 5th graders.

Lord is a Belgian Malinois from Germany. He is a very smart, hardworking dog, that is mostly used to find drugs. His owner, Officer Grover did some demonstrations to show how good Lord is at finding things by smell.
