1..2..3..4, Let's have a Penny War! Our PTA President, Karen Ferrara and our principal, Dave Harlan are going head to head in our Penny War to earn money for ChromeBooks. The one with the most points by the end of the week will be taped to the wall during lunch. Points are earned by how many pennies or bills are put in the bottle, but beware, points can be lost too. Points are lost when silver coins are dropped in the jar. Who will be the "lucky" winner? The answer to that question is definitely.....THE STUDENTS!
It was Poetry Day in Miss Hutchings class. First graders recited their poetry for their parents. There is nothing better than an good poem told by a first grader!
Canyon Elementary School was priveleged to have the Kinnect Dance Team from BYU come to our school. The day began with an assembly entitled "Night in the Museum". Several students were invited to participate in some of the dances. For the rest of the day, each class was able to spend an hour with one of the dancers in a class specially geared to their grade level. It was a great opportunity and was enjoyed by all.
