Ballet West comes to Canyon

Submitted by andria.lewis on

Canyon students (3rd-6th grades) got the opportunity to watch Ballet West, a professional dance company in Salt Lake, perform right here at our school!

The professionals talked about many things about ballet, and some student even went up  up and learned  moves from some of the pros!

Ballet West then performed beautiful scenes from The Nutcracker, in full costume!

The kids loved it, and learned a little about an art that they might not have known a lot about.

Thanks Ballet West!

Young Authors

Submitted by andria.lewis on

As part of November's literacy month, PTA orchestrated a "Young Authors" challenge, where they challenged students to write a book of their own!

Many of our wonderful students took the challenge, and came up with some great stories!

Pictured here are the students who wrote books. This wasn't a requirement, so all that participated were awarded with a certificate taking the challenge. The books have been displayed in the library, and have been some of the most popular books that other kids want to read.
