Our 4th/5th grade choir students had the chance to showcase what they have learned this Spring during a concert this week. The choir, along with small groups and individuals, sang songs from popular Broadway shows. We appreciate the time and effort Ms. Hutchings has put in this year to help students enjoy singing and discover and share their talents.

Ms. Green, our awesome custodian, was recently awarded the Region 10 PTA Service Award for Outstanding Support Staff. Ms. Green not only takes special care of the inside and outside of our school, but also the teachers, PTA, and students. She adds an element of fun and positivity to the lunchroom, the hallways and each interaction she has with students. Thanks for all you do Ms. Green! 

Congratulations to Danika Nuttall, Canyon's Teacher of the Year!  Danika was honored at the School Board meeting this week.  Congratulations Miss Nuttall!

Mrs. Holt's class won the the drawing for 3rd term. Each week classes turn in specialty slips if they earn all "5's" ,at the end of the term there is a drawing for a pizza party and time in the cub den with Mrs. Peery. Congratulations to Mrs. Holt's class. 

Canyon Elementary will be having a food drive April 11-15. All donations will go to Tabitha's Way. 

Items needed are: canned meats, rice in 1-2 lb bags, dry noodles, spaghetti sauce, cereal, and hearty soup (chili, chicken noodle, stew, etc). 

We are kicking off the month of April with the Fiesta Days Rodeo Reading Challenge. Yesterday the students learned about all the different events during a rodeo and some even got to participate in roping and barrel racing. Your child will bring home a calendar for them to keep track of the minutes they read and they will be entered into a drawing for prizes at the end of the month. There is also a traveling trophy for the school that has the most minutes read. Let's bring that to Canyon Elementary! Please watch for the calendar to come home and encourage your child to read!

This past week the students have been doing lots of reading. We have had a week long of drawings for minutes read, and finished the week off with a school read-a-thon. Way to go Canyon Cubs!

No school April 4- 8 for Spring Break. Have a great break. We will see you back on Monday, April 11. 

Student registration for the 2022-2023 school year is now open for returning families.  If you are new to Nebo, registration will being April 11 for New students. If you are a returning family and have a Kindergarten student, you will be able to register the Kindergarten student at the same time as your other students.

Attached is a list of required immunization for incoming Kindergarten students.
