Maceys School Cents

Submitted by calleen.argyle on

Maceys grocery store has the School Cents program where patrons have the opportunity to drop their grocery receipts in bins labeled for all of the elementary schools in Spanish Fork. Maceys totaled the receipts in Canyon Elementary's bin and gave a percentage to our school in the form of a donation. Maceys presented Dave Harlan, principal of Canyon Elementary, a check in the amount of $500.

Canyon Business Students

Submitted by calleen.argyle on

Canyon third grade students have been earning play money from their teachers for the month of May. They could earn play dollars by turning in their homework on time, walking in the halls, following directions and working quietly in class, etc. They also lost money and had to give some of their play dollars back to their teachers if they were not following the class rules. As a culminating activity, students got to set up their own businesses and they could buy and sell their goods with the play money they had earned.
