Moon Phases

Thanks to the out-pouring of Oreos donated by parents, the entire 6th grade enjoyed their assessment of the moon phases. In fact, they did not even know they were being assessed. It was a fun activity and the donations were definitely appreciated. When we each do a little, a lot an be accomplished.

Physical vs Chemical Change

Students in Mr. Zach Evans' class performed skits on physical vs chemical change. These fifth grade students were divided into groups and wrote skits. They have been exploring the difference between physical and chemical change. As students worked together, they wrote skits to solidify their understanding. The class enjoyed watching each other perform.

It was a great week at Canyon with Kindergarten classes up and running. These students are excited and ready to begin the year. We are glad to have all of our students back in session.

The Kindness Thing

Students in Sandy Nilson's first grade class learned about "The Kindness Thing". These first graders learned and practiced how to be kind throughout the day in a variety of situations. They are even learning a song all about being kind. Way to go Mrs. Nilson's class!
