Canyon Elementary students enjoyed celebrating Dr. Seuss Day. We started the day with "Parents and Pastries." Families enjoyed a donut and milk in the cafeteria and then found a spot to read together. We had a schoolwide readathon with guest readers. In addition, students were able to wear hats for the day. Many classes had additional activities to honor Dr. Seuss. It was a festive day.
Fifth and sixth-grade students participated in Canyon's annual Spelling Bee. Forty-eight finalists from fifth and sixth-grade competed for the championship. Other students who placed were: second place-Gavin Bown, third place-Mack Bramell, fourth place-Olivia Nelson, and fifth place- Jackson Wilson. We are proud of all of our spellers!
