We will be having 3 dress-up days for those that would like to participate:

Monday December 13- "Polar Express day"- wear pajamas or a robe

Wednesday December 15- "Grinch Day"- wear anything green or from Whoville

Friday December 17- "Ugly Sweater day"- wear a Christmas sweater or any holiday attire

Canyon's Choir will be having a Christmas concert next Thursday, December 9th at 6:00.  Singers need to be there by 5:30.  We hope you join us for a cheerful and merry night!

Altabank and The Spanish Fork Rotary Club donated dictionaries to EVERY 3rd grader here at Canyon Elementary. We are so excited for this new educational tool and can't wait to use them in class. We have already explored the biggest word in the English Language, Sign Language, states, presidents, and much more. If you have a 3rd grader ask them about their new dictionary. 

There will be no school November 24-26, for Thanksgiving Break. We hope everyone has a safe and fun break. 

Fourth graders enjoyed learning about what life might have been like for a real mountain man today.

November 15-19 the student council will be hosting a food drive. Students may bring in any can or non-perishable food item to the bins by the front office. All items will be donated to Tabitha's Way.

Most needed items are: shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste/toothbrush, baby wipes/ diapers size 4, 5, and 6, toilet paper, dry rice, dry beans, canned meats, tomato sauce, dry cereal, noodles, sugar and flour (no larger than 5 lbs), and cooking oil. 

4th graders had a wonderful day celebrating Veterans.  We shared stories of family members and friends who have served our country, and wrote thank you cards to give to them.  Happy Veteran's Day!  Thank you for all of your service to our country.  

Congratulations to our PTA Reflections Award of Excellence winners. These students will be moving on to the next level of competition. Each student participated in the ice cream reward party and we appreciate the time, effort and talents of all the students who entered Reflections this year. 

Mrs. Bennion's class won the end of term 1 pizza party with Mrs. Peery! Each class can earn points during their specialties classes and be put in a weekly drawing. Those classes that have won each week are then added to a drawing for an end of term pizza party with Mrs. Peery.
